Coach Christopher Cole: Head Coach
This is Coach Cole's 22 year of teaching ( 17 years in Richardson ISD at North Junior high and lake Highlands High School) and his is his second year at Independence. Coach Cole is is married to Andrea Cole which is also a teacher in RISD. He has three daughters, Chole 13, Ellie 11 and Marlee 8. Coach Cole graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a BESS in Kinesiology with a minor in Mathematics. He also has a Masters Degree from Lamar University in School Administration. He has Coached, Track, Basketball, Football and Boys and Girls Golf. [email protected] |
Sarah Fulfer : Assistant Coach
My name is Sarah Fulfer and I am very excited to be my 3 yea with the Frisco ISD community! I am eager to begin my 7th year teaching at such a wonderful school.
I am from a small town just outside of Stephenville, Texas. I attended college at Tarleton State University where I played college golf for 4 years. At Tarleton, I received my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Kinesiology. Since then I have been a Teacher/Coach around the Stephenville area. I spend my free time with my family, which typically involves golf... Go figure! We have a three year old son and are expecting our second boy this Thanksgiving!

Coach Kyle Story: Campus Athletic Coordinator
Coach Kyle Story has been married to his wife, Teena, for 26 years. Their daughter, Shay, is 22 and a junior at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, majoring in Business Marketing. Their son, Tyler, is 20 and a Sophomore at Texas State University in San Marcos majoring in Business Finance. Coach Story comes to Frisco Independence High School from Decatur, Texas where he has served as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach since 1999. Decatur’s Football record was 108 – 58 with 7 District Championships, 5 Bi-District Championships, 4 Area Championships, and a Regional Championship under Coach Story’s leadership. All of Decatur’s Athletic Department has flourished winning numerous District Championships and playoff games including 4 State Championships in Girls’ Cross Country, 4 State Championships in Boys’ Cross Country, and the State Championship in Volleyball in 2013. Softball was a State Semi-Finalist in 2002, and the Boys’ Power Lifting team finished 2nd at the State Meet in 2012 and 3rd in 2003. Coach Story graduated from Brownwood High School where he played on legendary Coach Gordon Wood’s 9th State Championship Football Team in 1981. He also participated in basketball, track, and cross country. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of North Texas. Coach Story has served as teacher in coach in McKinney ISD, Denison ISD, Wylie ISD, Irving ISD, and Grapevine-Colleyville ISD before becoming the Athletic Director for Decatur ISD. He has taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Business Law, and Accounting. He has coached Football, Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball, Track and Field, and Girls’ Soccer. |
Coach Amy Matlock: Assistant Campus Athletic Coordinator
Coach Matlock is completing her 16th year in education. Her last six years were spent at Highland Park High School. During her tenure at Highland Park she led the Lady Scots to the playoffs 5 out of 6 years, including a 2012 team which advanced to the regional semifinals, one of the deepest playoff runs in Lady Scots’ history. Prior to Highland Park, Coach Matlock coached at Wylie High School. Her team was the first Wylie team to make the playoffs in district 9-5A. In addition to her coaching duties, Matlock will be the Women’s Coordinator and teach Physical Education. Coach Matlock graduated from Slaton High School in 1993 and attended Clarendon College, where she was named basketball team captain and participated in the National Small College Athletic Association Championship Tournament. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Studies and a Master’s degree in Physical Education, graduating summa cum laude from Tarleton State University. |
